Painting the pool walls and staining the beams in the apartment pool area
Pools offer a unique experience, as these areas are subjected to extreme moisture risks. This 30,000-square-foot indoor pool facility in Elmhurst required special attention, as it included painting walls and staining overhead wooden beams. For the walls, we chose Pro Industrial pre-catalyzed water-based epoxy from Sherwin-Williams.
Pro Industrial paint is built to cover a variety of surfaces, from masonry to metal and drywall, but its main advantages are its ability to adhere to surfaces and withstand cleaning solvents. It is a durable paint and is resistant to stains. For the wooden beams, Painters Inc. stayed with Sherwin-Williams, a highly trusted brand, and used its stain and varnish to bring new life to overhead beams, which offer a natural wood aesthetic to the otherwise brightly colored room.

The property management company had scheduled the pool to be closed for a week, and Painters Inc. was able to commit to tackling the job in that time. But the job was much more than just painting and staining; our crew was tasked with covering the drained pool’s floor so it would not catch spatter from the paint, stain or varnish.
The pool deck, which is the surface area around the actual pool, was also covered for the same reason. Prep work can be time-consuming, but it is an important component of any painting project where quality results are expected.
