College is not the only path to success
Historical beliefs have influenced many parents and students to accept that success and prosperity comes from pursuing a college education. However, not all students are wired to learn best sitting in a classroom. Kinaesthetic learners are often do-ers who learn best by doing, experimenting, and simulating rather than listening or reading.
“52% of college graduates are in jobs, that didn’t require a college degree in the first place.”

Furthermore, the cost of attending college has skyrocketed. According to the National Center For Education Statistics, in 2021–22, the average total cost of attendance for first-time, full-time undergraduate students living on campus at 4-year institutions was $55,800 at private non-profit institutions and $26,000 at public institutions for students who paid the in-district or in-state tuition and fees.
This projects to in excess of $100,000 for four years at an in-state public institution and upwards of more than $200,000 for four years at an out-of-state public institution or private non-profit institution.
As a result, according to College Board, in 2019–20, 55% of bachelor’s degree recipients from public and private non-profit four-year colleges and universities graduated with debt and had an average debt level of $28,400.
